quick question on L2 cache recognition for the bartons

I just swapped procs from my wife's pc, so now mine has a 2500+ oc'd to 2800+, I can't find the thread that showed the where the L2 setting is in the WinXP registry to make sure it got detected right to make use of the extra cache. anyone know what that was or where the thread on that is?

I know the thread you meant ,it was started by Engineer

Don't worry about it ,that reg key was for off die cache ,e.g. L2 cache on the motherboard

for some reason my barton kept crashing, even when it wasn't oc'd for some reason it was set in the registry to the wrong cache setting, I got it set back to default (thanks network man, wasn't the exact thread I was talking about but that was the right reg key). I had to leave town shortly after the 1st post so i won't be able to test it any more unitl I get back saturday, I'm on my folks computer right now (dial up sucks, esp. at 26.4kbps) thanks for the info.

yup and thats on a good day 19.2 right now, they live waaaayyyy out in the sticks on a lake lot in central texas, the only thing available short of satalite dsl, and they can't justify the $99 a month fee for 512k down 128k up, no more than they use the internet. the dial up site is over 30 miles away as the crow flys and the phone line distance could be more that twice that.
