I bought a 9800 Pro but just want to make sure it is in fact a pro and not a non pro. I won't be able to install it until this weekend so I wanted to know now before I left heat for the person that sold it to me.

This is what ATI's site called it:

Results On: 102A0750500

Product Description BIOS Part Number 102 Part Number

RADEON 9800 128MB VGA DVI-I TVOUT - DELL 113A07505102 102A0750500

Really the only thing that piqued my curiosity was the lack of "pro" anywhere in the description.

It does have Samsung 2.8ns RAM.

Someone throw me a bone :)

it's really hard to say... I had a dell NP that i flashed to Pro and it ran pro speeds on 3.3ns ram.. you have the 2.8ns so it looks like you will have terrific results.

I don't believe there are any core differences other than speed and if the bios was flashed (as i did to mine) it will run the pro speeds by default. Most of the cards should have a label but if that is an OEM card (like from Dell) it may not. Sometimes the OEm stuff doesn't have the badging.

Good luck with it!!! you will love the card!!!!

It is indeed an OEM Dell pull. I just wanted to know for sure before I left heat. I am sure it is because the trade was flawless and I think the guy knows his stuff. I just wanted to know for my peace of mind since I can't put it in until the weekend.

Oh and I fell in love with the card as soon as I unpacked it and held it in my hands. It's nice to be darn near the top of the food chain for once :D

I just went thru the same ordeal as you buying a Radeon 9800 Pro off of E*ay.

tried using the ATI website but this is what it said using the S/N:
" RADEON 9800 128MB VGA DVI-I TVOUT - DELL, COMPAQ " ** --> Pro is not listed

Card has on it:
S/N 230332002187
P/N 102A0751600 000001
PN 109-A07500-00
BIOS # 113A07514100 (Looked this up on ATI website using the S/N )

installed Rage3DTweak and this came up:
Core clock 378.0
Memory clock 337.5

From my Samsung DDR K4D263238E-GC2A Samsung Web info here:
Part Number K4D263238E-GC2A
Max Freq. 350MHz Max Data Rate 700Mbps/pin

CL4 Min 2.86ns Max 4

I do not think you will be able to tell for sure until you install the card and run RAGE3D Tweak and check the core and mem speeds.

Use the Samsung Website to check your cards memory if it's Samsung using the part no. (small print on the chips).

Turns out my card is a Pro even though the ATI site doesn't list Pro

Good stuff, thanks dorkboy...I'll just have to wait until I build the new system.
