Quick question on Hard Reset

I'm a couple hours into this game. I love it. But here's my question: is there any difference between the weapons in terms of damage?

So far, I can't tell. I've used the CLN (machine gun) and NRG (Energy) weapon and they seem to be about the same.

Actually, the NRG weapon seems to be a little better against those saw-blade thingys and gorillas. But the CLN seems to be a little better against the exploding mine guys.

But maybe that's just me.

Thanks!

Hmmm... I don't think there's much of a difference in terms of damage dealt.

HOWEVER, the main differences between the two weapons are in the upgrades, and not the vanilla configurations. The NRG's energy-based modes are a lot different from the CLN's more traditional explosive-based modes. For example, you're gonna use the NRG's energy spreader thing (?) much differently then you'd use the CLN's grenade launcher.

Likewise, the NRG's "charge-up" feature is going to be used differently than the CLN's firepower+zoom feature.

That's the way I look at it, at least. I'm not sure if different enemies react differently to the different vanilla configurations. But I do know that different upgrades will be much more beneficial depending on what you're doing. It all depends on the situation you're in.

Thanks! That's kind of what I thought. I think the perceived difference in damage is really only in my mind. The difference between the CLN and NRG is really in how you want to play the game (upgrade path) like you stated.
