Quick question on G71.

Will it support HDR+AA?

And is it worth "trading up" with evga my 2x7800GT's for the G71 (possibly 2? if I can afford it ;), which I probably can't)

EDIT: I'll also take an I don't know, if no one knows this stuff.

I asked EVGA about that and you can't trade two cards for one. I'm going to just trade up one of my GTs for a G71 and put the other card in a second rig I have planned.

If you want to upgrade and have the money I'd say why not? I think it's pretty safe to say that 1 G71 will be on par with a 7800GT SLI setup(if not more powerful). I've already sold one of my GTX 512's to fund the G71 upgrade. ;) When does your step-up expire? Mine is Feb. 14th. If they launch the G71 before the 14th of next month then I'll get 2. :) If not, then I'll get one and wait for the G80.

I got my cards for christmas so I think the step up lasts 6 months right? So I have 6 months to "step up", right?

None of you have answered my original questions, or do people just "not know these things" yet?

And for stepping up, I would have to trade in one for one, so if I have 2 7800GT's, I would get 2 G71's, right?

Step up lasts 90 days. 3 months.

I have till Feb. 19 or something like that to step up my GTs.

At $310 and $320 a pop, I think I'll be stepping up to 2 G71s.

Hopefully 2 G71s wont cost me more than $400 after step-up!

I believe you're running at 1280x1024. You have absolutely no need to upgrade to a G71, let alone two.

You sir are correct.

I play with all the settings to maximum and use 4xAA 16xAF with gamma correct AA, multisample AA, or super sampling.

FEAR and COD2 gave my SLI a tough time with maximum settings.

Might as well step-up since i have an opportunity to get my money back for these cards and basically pay the price of a single midrange card, but get two hgih-end...

Does that make sense at all or did I just have a few too many tonight? :D
