Quick Question: Might sell our truck to a shady man today

A hispanic looking man was riding a bicycle around our neighborhood today and stopped and asked us if we would sell him our truck. It's an old Toyota pickup truck that has been sitting there for a month or so; I'm not sure if this guy has been watching our truck for a while now or what.

Anyways, I suspect that he may be an illegal immigrant. Please don't start attacking me calling me a racist, etc. It's a fair assumption based on the following observations....

Random hispanic man..
Riding a bicycle..
Ask's a random person if they would sell him their truck..


Here's my question:
So lets assume he is an illegal; are there any legal considerations we should take before/if we decide to sell him our truck?

You can't say "Please don't start attacking me calling me a racist, etc. It's a fair assumption based on the following observations...." and then list those observations as your proof/reasoning of why a Latino man is an "illegal".

He probably rode a bicycle to save money while he is mowing your neighbors lawns and working hard. Maybe he made enough money and wanted to buy a truck on the cheap? You both win so why are you being paranoid. Rush Limbaugh doesn't watch you at all times so you should be fine.

I saw an arab riding a bike the other day, he asked to buy my C4. I called homeland security. you should at least call I.C.E. just in case. can't be too careful these days. Although I have to admit, I was surprised when I went into a restaurant in harlem and everyone was well behaved

The DMV has no ability to enforce immigration laws nor do they want to and do not stop illegal aliens from getting driver's licenses, registering vehicles, getting insurance, etc.

You need to make sure you do a bill of sale. If he never registers the vehicle and has an accident, it could come back to you if you can't prove you sold the vehicle.

That's why you file a report of sale with the DMV the day after selling the vehicle. Many of them allow you to do it online these days. Saved me once after I sold a beater, and it got towed a week later. The guy hadn't transferred the title yet. I'd filed my report of sale, so it wasn't my problem.

he said he would be back in a few hours, but he never showed up

and I'm not accusing him of being an illegal immigrant, but I do know for a fact that there is an illegal immigrant population in this area, and I just wanted to be safe with regards to the law if he was an illegal.
