I lost my receipt for a wireless router that apparently was defective, so I called up the nearest Staples and asked what their return policy was regarding lost receipts, and like a lot of retail stores now they said we can trace your credit card to the order so we know you actually purchased it here, otherwise your out of luck. I didn't buy it from that staples though so I drove down to the staples that I got it from, and the manager there claims that there's no way of tracking my purchase and that he can only issue me a staples "cash card". It didn't really matter to me, seeing as how I was gonna buy something else anyways, but now I do have a $7 cash card that I'll probably forget about. Was the manager BSing? It's not like he has really old systems or anything, as his store opened up within the past year.
