I need the elvish word for "the one ring"

Its said in the Silmarion somewhere and it begins with the letter M

The only thing it was called starting with M was the master ring. The elves did not have a special word for it.

You are incorrect. I dug out my copy of the Silmarillion and according to it M&aacute;hanaxar = The Ring Of Doom outside the gates of Valmar, in which were set the thrones of the Valar where they sat in council.

he quickly told me that HE thought it was elvish for the one ring and started out sounding like Mayan or Mahan ....

AFAIK, what youre looking for doesnt exist.

Youre probably getting it confused with one of the three rings, Nenya, Narya and Vilya.
