quick question(found it thanks)

I've seen the answer here before, but for the life of me can't find.

I'm getting a new laptop, and want to run remote desktop connection client to access my pc at home. I know how to set all that up already and even know how to pass it through my router (port 3389)

but I don't know how to track down my ever changing wan ip address of my dsl router, nor do I own a domain name to translate it through dns from sbcglobal. What is the web site that you can use that constantly updates with your current wan ip address so you can view it remotely through IE? <---- THAT LAST PART IS THE QUESTION (the rest is just extra details for those wanting to know them)

You do not need a domain to get your IP through DNS service.

Try to log to few of them and see what you can do.

The site that reads your IP or programs that can do so will show you the DSL?s IP locally, so it will not help you when you are else where and need to know the current IP...

To find your external IP locally log to: http://www.whatismyip.com/

There are shareware programs that will find your IP locally and periodically will email it to an email account of your choice (I do not know of a free one).

dyndns.org has free dynamic domains, Like lobadoba.dyndns.org, or kicks-ass.org, etc
Sign up for one of those, install the client application on you home computer, adn now you can put your domain right in the connection window. DNS will find your home computer for you.
