Quick question for those who got in on that comcast/staples deal

Alright, i searched for both current and archived messages and came up with nothing 🙁

If anyone remember, there was this huge thread in Hot Deals forum about a year ago that had a deal on comcast broadband service, with $150 rebate from staples. Comcast has been acking up lately, and me and my roomates came to a conclusion a DSL based ISP would serve us better. The only thing thats keeping us from signing up for a new ISP is the terms of the rebate which states you have to be subscribed for a certain amount of time to qualify for the rebate. So if you did jump on this bandwaggon, do you remember for how long you are obligated to stick with comcast?

When i worked a Circuit City, all the Comcast deals we had required only two things...

#1. You maintained at least 1 month of service.
#2. You had service at the moment your rebate was processed.

Yours may have been different as we used to only offer a free modem (after rebate) and usually a $50-75 rebate ontop of that...

Read your contract?

Or, search through archived threads.

6 months is the requirement.

thanks, i tried that but strangely came up with nothing. i guess i suck at searching 🙂

i do have my paper that came from comcast, but the rebate was from staples so i couldnt find any legal document leading to that information. thanx for help tho, i appreciate it!

my gripe with comcast has been growing, and today i made up my mind when i observed the connection got reset 5 times within a 3 hour span or so. at one point it was no faster than a dial-up, literally. i am not blaming comcast for anything, it was fine when i first signed up for it; it just so happens that our neighbors decided to go with the same ISP filling up the pipes to turn them completely saturated by now.

Your only solution is to move to NY and get Optimum Online.
