Quick Question: Do you need credit card to register on Ebay?

Friend wants to use my account. I told him no and make his own. He said hes cannot because he doesn't have a credit card. I am sure this is false because I have registered on there before I got my check card.

How old is your account? I know that when I registered in 1998 they required nothing, but I don't know, they've never asked me. IIRC they require it now.

Ok I looked at eBay's site: it's free to register and sign up - to create a seller's account you need to have a checking account or a credit card.

Look what I found.

If you don't want to place your card on file, you can enter a different email instead (only certain types of emails can be used, such as those issued by companies, schools, and paid Internet Service providers).

Thats probally why I didn't have to. I used MyRealBox, which is owned by Novell, so maybe I was allowed without having to register a card.

I told him to sign up for MyRealBox, but it seems to be down at the moment.

Probally close to 8-10 months ago. Sometime last year, before summer.

Anyway, he stopped talking to me, so he is on his own now.
