Yes, you can use the SB coupons even if you don't own a business. Just put in your name in lieu or something else.
SB coupons can be only used on SB and vice versa.

If you use Dell SB make sure that you use your full real name as the business because that is who dell makes out rebate checks to. You can't cash them unless you do this.

Also, the product catalouge is slightly different between Home and SB (I think) but only on a few items like tape storage and such.

Edit: BTW, welcome to the forums and next time a post like this belongs in the OT forum. There are no hot deals here!

I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. Maybe I'd be nicer if you posted this in the right damn forum. That would be the OFF TOPIC forum for those of us who don't know.

Biggest difference... Small Business CHARGES TAX, Home does not (to most states). Also, home has more lenient return policies, especially on Software and Peripherals (30 days -vs- 14 day).

The other difference is that there tend to be more 10% off coupon that go to Dell Small Biz than Home, I end up normally ordering from Business because they have a better deal even after Tax.

Not if you're a real business, but that's not the case here. Had to point that out.

Also, there's the whole thing where dell sb sells GOOD laptops and some workstations.

from personal experience, SB support and sales do not put you on hold forever... same for my coworker who ordered a laptop from Dell Home, too many headaches, then returned it, then ordered from Dell SB, and everything was quick, no hold time, and much better support.

This comment isn't directly in response to anything you said, but I think it's sad that so many people are quick to point our that a post is OT, but not quick to answer like you did. New blood, like myself and a lot of other new members is what make forums like this strong. Why not ignore OT posts if you don't have the tolerence for them, help the posters rather than yell at them, and make this place a fun forum to participate in.

Unfortunately I won't ignore OT posts. They don't belong here and do NOT make this section of the forum strong. There is a place for them, and that is in OT. If the members don't enforce the rules then Hot Deals just doesn't work.

However, I won't flame someone just because they posted inthe wrong place (unless they deserve it that is  ) I try to answer their question as best as I can and then direct them to where their post should have been. I remember when I was a n00b and made similar mistakes.

Good point, I do not ignore them either, I also try to help when I can, I remember being a noob myself, not that I am that far removed from a noob.

Decide the EXACT configuration you want then carefully compare between the 2 sites. Depending on the configuration, one site will be cheaper then the other one week, but the opposite may be cheaper the next.

I actually made up a business name for SB. However, you have the opportunity to change that during check out. So when I got my i600m w/a $150 rebate, I changed my business name during check out to my name. That way will have no problem w/rebate. You can check your invoice BEFORE final order/payment to see how that will read. This is how any rebate will be issued.

In general (but not always) it seems they be less "crappy" "fill" software on the computers in SB.
