Friend of mines was looking for a new AGP card for EverQuest 2/WoW, I recommended these two:

Sapphire Radeon X800GT 256MB - $140
EVGA Geforce 6800 Vanilla - $166 (after MIR)

I noticed that Nvidia has released a 6800XT, is this thing faster than the 6800NU? Any other cards that are around his budget that would be faster than what I have listed?

Pretty sure the 6800XT AGP are only available in Europe from XFX, and they're the 6800nu with only 8 pipelines. The x800GT is also a lower version of the x800 line. They're using a method of switching up card names to confuse consumers...XT for ATI is the top of the line, XT for nV is at the bottom, reverse for GT. Undereducated consumers think, "Wow, the GT from ATI is only $140, but the GT from nV is $300! I'll get the ATI!"

There's rumors that the 6800GS is going to be coming out in AGP, but it'll probably run around $225-$250. AGP versions of native PCI-E card are usually more expensive since they have to fabricate a PCI-E to AGP bridge.

If you wait another week the 6800nu's may be cheaper. This last round of rebates really cleared out the stock and companies are expecting new shipments shortly. I got mine for $149 AR.

EDIT: 6800XT is available from NewEgg.

None of you guys answered my question, is the 6800XT faster than the X800GT/6600GT? Newegg has an Asus AGP version for $140. This card isn't for me (already have X800XL), its for a friend who's a WOW/EQ2 whore.

I have a 6800nu AGP card and it runs stuff great. WoW runs like butter. BF2 and other games are running at high res/high quality.

The 6600GT is good but will only really overpower the 6800nu if you overclock it alot. The x800GT I'm not very familiar with but if the 6800XT is similar as the 6800nu, then it sounds like it would be the one for you to get.
