Quick question about Warcraft 2

for anyone who can remember life back in 1995 😛

was there multiplayer support enabled in the original release version, or did WC2 have no multiplayer support whatsoever until the Battlenet release in 1999?

damn you *shakes his fist*

got in a fight with a coworker over whether "pwned" originated in WC2 (1995), Quake (1996), or if it's even older than that.

my money is still on Quake. heh.

I believe it has modem and LAN support. Later (after a long time) Blizzard released the bnet version. Anyway WC2 was the best RTS ever IMO, the mother of all fantasy RTS. It was the game that converted me to PC gamer.

The original version of Warcraft 2 offered multiplayer capability through IPX, TCP/IP, and modem play. Internet play was added by kali.net, which preceded all this crap by blizzard and microsoft.

It originated from a typo by Blizzard in the original WarCraft: Orcs And Humans or whatever it was called, according to most.
