Quick question about usinga coupon at staples after pruchase.

I recently bought a printer from staples, I wanted it now, so I didn't order online, why I didn't order online and pickup in store is beyond me, I just forgot. I now see they have a 12% coupon available. I know I can obviously return the printer and repurchase, but that would be a big pain. If I go back thier with my receipt and coupon and ask for the 12% to be taken off, will they do it?
