I have been succesfully using ghost 2003 to make backup images of all my partitions.

I use the Boot Disk method to image my HDs.
So i was wondering if there is any need to Norton Ghost installed on my PC, since i do all my back ups via bootdisk?

Also under the Task Manager i see that Ghost.exe runs at startup. What is the point of this? is this running for the "In Windows" backup features?

thanks.

If you use a boot CD, then I don't see why you'd need Ghost to be physically installed on the hard drive. It's the same way for me with Acronis True Image. I installed TI and then used the program to make a boot CD....I haven't used TI in Windows since then.
