I signed up for that free resource kit deal about a week ago, and I have a question. It came with the Pro 120-day trial and a Server 120-day trial, both with a special product key (same one)...is there a difference between these CDs and real CDs? Meaning, is it a 120-day trial because of that code, or because the content on the CDs are slightly different? Thanks.

as far as i know the data is identical on both versions, except the trail version will only work for 120days. once the trail date is reached, (with NT4, i assume it is the same for win2k) after one hour the systems tells you the trail is over and asks you to save everything. if left on for one more hour the system shuts down.

Correct, the SETUP.HIV file (in the x:\i386 dir) is the only difference between the retail and trial CD's.

If for some reason you get the crazy idea to hack that setup.hiv file, take a look at http://www.corob.net/win2000
