Quick question about this frequent router disconnect

If I try to transfer a file over the wireless network to one of my room mates, the connection always drops within a minute. Is this normal? Do I need to lower the speeds over the network? The router is a dual-band Linksys WRT600N.

Does it happen when you transfer files to any of your other roommates PCs? If it does you might consider upgrading the firmware on the router if you haven't yet. If it only happens on this roommates PC, you might want to check his PC's network settings, i.e. latest drivers for the wireless NIC, TCP/IP settings, etc.

We have the latest firmware and it disconnects both parties involved in the transfer. I don't know if the third room mate's computer disconnects.
