Quick question about the 2x8pin

What is this connector for?
Do you mean 2X4 pin for the EPS 12V connector? Are you referring to Pcie connectors?

Looks like the PCI-e connectors but instead of 2x6 its a 2x8 on the motherboard. just wondering if I could use the PCI-e (2x6) and put it into the Motherboards 2x8

I have the feeling that your terminology is off.
"2x6" means 2 rows of 6 pins (12 pins total).
A PCIe power connector is either 2x3 (6 pin) or 2x4 (8 pin).

No, the PCI-E power plugs, and the ATX12V/EPS12V connectors are NOT interchangable. You might smoke something.

You can plug an ATX12V 2x2 (4-pin square) connector, into half of an EPS12V 2x4 (8-pin rectangle) connector. That will work, it's designed to.

That's if your PSU only has the 4-pin ATX12V mobo connector, and lacks the EPS12V 8-pin connector, but your mobo has an EPS12V 8-pin socket.

yep. the other 4 pins are supposedly for power stability if you OC a lot, but its optional

dohh... you're right lol. so to revise my question
could a 2x3 pin be used in the 2x4 pin?

Now you know why I questioned your "2 x 8."

You definitely do NOT want to connect one of the Pci-e connectors to that socket...you'll damage the motherboard, and possibly the power supply and even CPU.
If your power supply doesn't have even a 2x2 (4 pin) connector, you CAN buy adapters that connect to one of the 12v molex-type connectors...but most power supplies built in the past several years have at least a 2x2 pin connector. Those are acceptable...IF you don't overclock your CPU...or at least, if you don't heavily overclock...ymmv depending on psu.
