Quick question about Seti@Home

I'm trying to contact someone at Seti about my account but I can't find a contact email anywhere. Can someone tell me what their email address is? I looked all over their website but no luck.

Thanks,
Pyxis

Man, if my eyes are this bad at 20, wait until I get older🙂

The folks at Seti are pretty busy analyzing data and are not big into email. I and others here would be most happy to help you out.

Have you previously established a SETI account? It sounds as if you did?

I had a Seti account under an email address that I no longer have any access to. I just wanted to know if there was any way for them to transfer my work units to a new account I created today. When I created the account I noticed that it asked for a zip code. Since I used the same zip code under my old account I thought they could verify I was the same person.

old account- petrovski@ameritech.net
new account- petrovski98@home.com

Anyway I just looked under their FAQ page and it says they can't do anything about it🙁

Did you by any chance save you login password for SETI? If you remember it or can find it you should be able to logon to edit your account. You can then change your email address and you can even change your SETI name.

Nope, that's why I'm trying to contact them.

Oh well, I guess I'll have to start from scratch🙁

The passwords are usually 10 digit numbers. If only you could remember where you wrote it down. If you are using the same computer and have "remember passwords" enabled you might be able to enter your old email address petrovski@ameritech.net and then try entering the first digit...trying from 1 - 9 and your computer may just fill in the rest for you or at least pop up the password for you to select.

That might work if I hadn't done like 3 fresh installs of Windows.

Thanks for all you help anyways🙂

Yep, that's the problem with SETI passwords. They're all numbers and something like 8+ long. Do yourself a favor, use a freemail web based account (Yahoo, Hotmail, Netscape, etc) as your SETI Email address. That way you always have access to it. My buddy had the same problem. He used a work Email address and now he's no longer there. 🙁

That's too bad Pyxis,

What was your old SETI name and how many WUs did you have?

And welcome to the TeAm. 🙂

What systems are you going to put to work doing SETI?

Old account was

petrovski@ameritech.net

Don't know when I'll start doing Seti. Right now I'm hooked on RC5🙂
Maybe I'll switch between projects in a couple of months.

EDIT: I think I had around 530 WU's done.

Looking forward to your help with SETI when you get around to it. 🙂
