quick question about RDP and win2k3 server

When I login to my win2k3 box using RDP it gives me my own user space instead of allowing me to work on the current logged in account. Is there anyway to set it so I can login and see whatever is running on the box (more like a vnc).

You go into the TS manager, right click on a session and select remote.


N/m....I've only used it when two parties are invloved.


YOur solution is the right one for this case.

just modify your shortcut to the remote desktop program, add /console at the end

Ah, good old TS Manager 😉
I wish they'd make that thing a bit more user-friendly.

it wont be like vnc though

for example

on the actual computer for example the administrator is logged in
when someone logs onto the computer with the /console remotely the actual computer becomes locked, when someone else logs in remotely the other person there gets booted off, and then finaly when someone at the computer unlocks it anyone remotely connected gets booted off

Which is why the remote thing is kind of handy...both people get to fight over the mouse and fun stuff like that😀

Thanks, this did it.

also, if you use RDP profiles, you can add this line if you open the RDP in notepad

"connect to console:i:1"

without the quotes, so you can just double click on your RDP file and go right into the console
