Whats the difference between the enermax 451p-ve and the 465p-ve they are both listed as 430 watt?
Is one a pentium 4 only?
I dont want to get the wrong one!

I *believe* the 465VP-E has the fan control option, and the 451 does not. But you'd best look in to that first, unless of course you don't care about or need the thermal controlled fan capability. I find it a nuisance personally, as I leave them spinning at max RPM all the time. I hate hearing the things "whine" up to a higher speed and then slow way down when CPU load isn't as high.

There is an EG-465P-VE and a EG-465P-VE FC the FC is as Pabster mentioned the fan control version.

The 465 is listed in a few places as 430 watts and some others as 450watts but it does produce more power than the 451

451 Review

Still didnt really get a straight answer and the 451 isnt listed on enermaxs web site?
Is the 451 an older model?
Damnit i need to know someone help please!

The 465 model produces 431 watts steadily. It peaks at 465 watts.
The 451, if I recall correctly, produces only 400 watts steadily, and peaks at 430 or 451, or something like that. Wish I could be more help...

Actually, if you're just wondering which one provides more power, they're either exactly the same, or the 465 provides more. I know for a fact that the 451 doesn't provide more wattage, and that the 465 is a newer model, so the 465 is your best bet.

The 465p-ve comes in two flavors, 465p-ve and 465p-ve(FC). The basic difference is that the FC version has "Fan Control," in which the second fan shuts down when the motherboard goes into sleep mode. Dunno if that matters to you, but there are other threads in this very board where I was asking about this model of power supply. I decided it didn't suit my needs, but it may very well suit yours. 🙂
