when you order from OD and you get their automated response saying what your order was, they include a "delivery date" (mine is 1.28.2003). when i track the order on their website it says that it is still in warehouse. does this mean that my package will leave their warehouse on the 28th or it will actually be at my door sometime on the 28th? (the email. actually says "We will deliver your order on 01/28/2003, between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM. " ... but i dont see how it would get here that fast when i don't have a local OD...) anyone?

It should mean it gets delivered on that date. You don't have to read into it that much.

They are sometimes late or they don't update the web site to show it's about to be delivered.

so you say it will... i'm going to call them tomorrow after class and figure this out.. the reason i'm curious is i'm having it (the mouse) delievered to my parents house 45 min away and want to know if i should make plans to drive up, have dinner with them, do some other trash, pick up my goods and drive back.

ty :)

You seem to think that you must have a local OD in order to receive orders quickly. But UPS can deliver orders overnight. So if OD ships via UPS then it's not necessary to have a local OD in order to receive orders the next day.

I was trying to help you. Sorry for not including enough information to be clear.

Delivery Date for me, in the past, meant it would be delivered on that day. However, that being said, as long as it's not backordered or one of those items where it says "the expected shipping date has been changed from 1-3 days to 5-7days... blahblahblah" The ship date might be wrong... but it is just an estimate anyhow. For my last 3 OD orders the estimate has been dead on.

I'll take a screen shot if you like :)

now it says on the truck, i guess it is going to be delivered today :) ... the reason this strikes me as odd is because i placed the order late sunday night :Q

Vincent - the reason i didn't think ups is because it would cost a ridiclous amount of money to ship a mouse overnight, where i only paid 5.55 (or something close to that) for shipping. but thanks for going back and making your post clearer.
