So I have some tulip bulbs in my yard and I was out of the country for a month. When I got back, the whole thing was literally burried in ice. Would the bulbs still be alive?

They are of this kind:
tulip

yep...they should be fine.
Hopefully you planted them last fall...

The funny little brown/white checked cap may not have survived though. 😛

I posted a reply too....I don't know where it went.

I would guess it will reappear in 2012 in the Zombie Tracking subforum

Worst one I can remember. I posted that Holland, MI is the tulip capital of...something. But they get tons of snow and ice yet the flowers do fine. The Tulip Festival is in August, it sucks though.

Huh, not in May as usual??? I already planned on going in May. It really sucks.

Tulips should be okay (depending on variety). A worse problem for tulips is being eaten by squirrels, groundhogs, all sorts of animals. The ice should help that.
