Hi

I need a USB 2.0 enclosure for my 3.5 " HDD. I will never use the enclosure for a 5.25" drive.

I am confused between 2 the AMS VENUS Enclosures.

AMS VENUS DS-2316B2BK Black External Enclosure - 3.5" with 80 mm Fan
AMS VENUS DS-2512B2BK Black External Enclosure - 5.25" with 40 mm Fan.

My question : Will the 5.25" enclosure offer better cooling for the Harddrive?

Thanks

Typically, larger enclosures give more space for air to circulate, and so better cooling. But the 3.5" one you mentioned has an 80mm fan, which would likely do a better job than the whiney 40mm fan in the 5.25" one.

 Agree! Also, the larger fan will turn at a slower RPM and be quieter.
