Ok, so there is Dell deal I got it on for the parents x-mas gift, all good, now GF's parents want in to, but I can't downgrade the warrenty on the customize it page, so they are stuck with three years warrenty and that makes the computer very expensive, instead of ghetto cheap. Does anybody know if you can downgrade the warrenty after you purchase the system? or are you stuck with it, and If I am stuck with it, how much of a hassel is returning a Dell, thanks

I'm guessing Dell will throw a fit over that one... but that's just a guess on their home line. Most of their support for home systems is lacking....from what I've heard.

Dell Home or Small Business or EPP?
Which model? 2300/4550/8200/8250?
Is this is a Dell refurb from Delloutlet.com?

I'll build you a rig cheap, with no warranty.

What scarpozzi said is true, BTW. Their business support is among the best, but home support sucks.

its the 2300 dell, I can't get it down to 340 because of the warrenty is at 3 years, and I can't get it to 1 year. I can build a cheap rig too, but unless you can match dell's specs then I'm not interested. I just don't have time right now to build another rig.

I ordered one of those for my dad, and one for my in-laws at $340.00 each. Unreal! The deal is over, that's why the 1 year warranty doesn't show up. That ups the price to $489.00! Yikes, do people really pay that much for two more years service on a budget PC?
