quick question about flash

I am pretty new to flash, I tried some a few years ago but never really got into it. Anyways, I have a few premade files I am trying to work with. I went to the Macromedia site, they are advertising Flash MX 2004 which sounds pretty new. Just wondering, what was the latest version before Flash MX 2004 called? Since I am new to Flash, most help/documentation doesn't refer to Flash MX 2004, so I want to try one of the older ones
 
I believe it was just called "Flash MX", although it might have been Flash 5 or Flash 6 (can't recall for sure).
 
MX was what it was called 6 was the version number...

for tutorial purposes you probobly will want to look up MX
