some guy wants to pay via echeck and tell me to end the auction and email him a gift cert code immediately... are there any risks to echeck? can he withdraw the echeck right after he got the gift cert code?

There are defintely risks with an echeck.

I wouldn't send him the code until the echeck clears to your account.
 
thanks. i still don't understand why he doesn't want to send the payment via paypal funds, but want to do it through a credit card paypal or the echeck thing, so i insisted a good ol' paypal funds.
 
Didn't want to start a new thread so I figured I'll ask here. Once an e-check says it's cleared in my account, does that mean the receiver has gotten the money? I'm waiting for an item which I won back on Saturday. I paid via echeck (forgot that I had removed my cc from my paypal account) on Sat and it finally cleared yesterday morning. I haven't heard back from the guy about my item.
