Quick question about DVR cards for CCTV

did a quick search and didn't find the answer. I need an answer quick. When you are buying a CCTV dvr card what is meant by "real-time" ie 4 channel card but only 1 real-time channel. Also anyone know of good site on setting up video surviellence

it probably means 30fps shared between 4 channels. so if you are using 1 channel then it will be real time.
