Quick question about CDRW and finalization

I've always just used CDR media, and recently got some pocket CDRWs. In Nero, if I check 'Finalize CD' will it lock the disc even though it's a CDRW? My understanding is that for a regular cd player to play an audio cd it must be finalized. Is this correct?

My understanding is that most CD players, unless specifically meant for CD-RW or MP3 CD's won't be able to play RW discs. I think it has something to do withe disc layers being harder to read since the data isn't permanent.
