Quick question about a 60wat light bulb

How dry is the wood? What's the air flow? Is it enclosed? How long is the light going to be on for? What's the ambient temperature?...

it s a bird nest that u hook up to the cadge and its at the botom of the wooden box and its in a room in my house which is 73 during the day and 75-78 night (florida) I also Have a 40watt bulb if neesasery. the light buld it about 2-3 inches away from the wood.

edit: the reson is b/c they need heat so... thats why I useda 60watt bulb or a 40 watt bulb

2-3 inches should be safe. If 40W isn't enough heat than I doubt 60W will catch fire. Just swap it back for the summer.

Use a reflector lamp. The parabolic reflector will allow safe distance between the hot envelope and still offer efficient propagation of IR energies to the target.

Reduce wood to the finest particles possible, flow in a stream toward the illuminated bulb, then break the glass of the bulb (assuming incandescent).

if you keep 2-3 inch clearance you should be fine. but if the 40 W is enough, go with that

i think you would need direct contact with wood even up to about 100 W
