I have an HP A1250N. I'd like to upgrade my video card, using onboard ATI right now. My choices are buy a BFG 7300 GS OC or an X1300 or a new PSU. If I buy the PSU I can get a better card in a couple months.

The problem I'm having is the 7300 GS says 350W or better. My HP has a 300W Delta that says "Do not exceed 268W". Will a 7300GS or X1300 work? Should I get a PSU now and a 7600 GT or X1600 (top model dont know the name) later (August)?

To help you out I am a casual gamer and I hate shooters. The most hardware intensive game I play is Neverwinter Nights.

Gotta love NWN, big favorite of my wife and I

I would get a new PSU before trying to put in a new vid card. Honestly, the old PSU *may* run them fine... but likely not. Modern video cards use a lot of juice, so better safe than sorry.

Besides, you have to get the best PSU so you can get the best video card so that you can run NWN 2 when it comes out :D

Thats the problem I am Canadian and I don't have a credit card so I can't order online. My town is small and the local shops are horrid. They sell Celeron D(2.6Ghz, 256M ram, 40gig HD, missing AGP slot) for $1000. They charged me $19.99 for a 3.5 gram thing of Artic Silver 5.

So for a 400W Fortron they want $125, and the 7300GS is $125 also. You don't wanna know what the 7600GT costs.

EDIT: Also they claim the system I listed as Vista Ready.
