Quick q's about overclocking my 6600GT

Ok I am a happy owner of a XFX 6600gt agp. I the 67.03 drivers. I am currently oc'ed to 550/1.1 which is what the card detected as appropriate and I believe is a safe/good overclock. I am using the manual overclocking to do this. Now my question is when does the automatic switching between 2d/3d core speeds still occur when you are overclocking? Also what is a safe temp range for these cards?

Edit: Also is there 3rd party vga coolers been released the will work on the "sideways" 6600GT agp?

Thanks in advance!

The core speed change will still occur unless you maually changed the 2d settings as well. Memory speed will stay at the OC regardless. Hard to give you a safe temp. I would say keep it under 80c ? Mine ran at about 75 tops with the same OC you are running, untill I put a waterblock on it. I dunno about aftermarket fan coolers, but the old style Maze4 coolers from dangerden fit perfectly if you have a wc setup.

Edit, forgot to mention, if you download the rivatuner software you can monitor the temp / mem , and core speed real time.
