So I've been pretty anti-apple for a while, but it really is the best mobile browser I can find for the price. However I can't stand itunes and want to avoid using it if possible. So, without jailbreaking it, can I load custom ringtones (not full music) and load/sync contacts without using itunes?

Awesome, and do you know anything about the ringtones? I have tons of mp3 ringtones I've made over the years that I want to still use but refuse to install itunes for such a simple thing.

Why the hate for itunes? For what you want to use it for, I don't think you will find anything better. Besides, you will need it for software updates, so why not use it for both?

Last time I installed itunes it took the liberty of retagging all of my music, and for some reason thought half of my collection was Bruce Springsteen. Maybe I'll just have it installed for software updates, but it sure as hell isn't getting access to my music again.
