Quick Q: Running a 4x PCI-E Card on a 8x PCI-E Slot. Possible?

The title says it all.

Ageia are planning to release the PPU on PCI-E 4x (as well as regular PCI but that's a diff matter) so I was wondering if it would run fine on a faster PCI-E socket eg 8x or 16x.

It should. As far as I can tell, the slots are backawards compatible to the device that is plugged into them. Seeing as though there are very few PCIe expansion cards out at the moment, I have no real world evidence to support this.

That's what I've been assuming but I'm in a similiar situation so was looking for corroborative proof.
