Short version:

Old P233 MMX, Installed bad RAM, corrupted Win 98, 98 disk not handy, installed Win 2000 Pro, Scanner and printer not compatible with Win 2000 Pro, haven't been used since. Building new AMD Dual w/ Win XP Pro.

Q: Will XP Pro compatibility modes enable me to use said Win 98 compatible printer and scanner or must I buy new?
