I ordered the Crucial MX100 512GB - and now this is the first I saw of the MX200.

Reading a bit on it, it looks better. Shouldn't I get the MX200 instead? Same price.

The MX100 was ordered as needed for the use of the credit, but I cancelled the order to get time to decide between M100 and M200. Can't see a reason not to get M200?

If they are the same price from your merchant of choice, and that price is circa 200 usd, yeah, def get the mx200 over the mx100.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Silicon Power. Great reviews and their price point is amazing.

That is interesting. Never heard of them. 256GB a bargain at $90, 500GB not available on Amazon, 1TB $535 more than others at $535.

Reviews do seem to suggest positive comments, that it's 'not quite as good as the best drives', but that when it's lower priced, it's still good quality and a bargain.

I suspect it might be a bit of a victim of not being known. Seems like that is a danger for some tech products that can hurt sales.

I understand why people like a longer warranty, I don't personally care about a warranty beyond a few years. I'm pretty sure that if my unit dies outside of year 3 or so, I just won't care enough to go through the RMA process to get a refurbished unit of the same capacity.

I always RMA my hard drives so why wouldn't I do that for my SSDs? I know you are talking about yourself, but my SSD in my main rig cost me $250+. That's not small change to me. Yeah, I'll have gone and purchased a new one while waiting on the RMA, but then I'll have another fast drive I can use for storage. In fact, I'm always disappointed when a drive is not under warranty. I don't care if it's now selling for < $100. I can do the RMA on my day off and I'll feel like I've come out ahead. I'm picturing you burning $100 bills! ^_^
