Quick psu question

Lifer
I'm using a fortron 530w psu in my system. (I bought a 530w psu to give me plenty of headroom for potential future needs, but its definitely more than I need now.)

Q: Do large wattage psu's such as this one generally use respectively more electricity than a smaller wattage psu's when powering the same system/components/specs (under the same load), or is it that they are simply 'capable' of delivering more watts to the system when necessary?

They shouldn't use much more electricity than a lesser one where equal power is needed (maybe a little more than others because of possibly lower efficiency at lower levels).

That's what I was figuring (altho my electricity bill would imply otherwise).

Anyone else to add or confirm?
