The electric field in the atmosphere is about 150 N/C downward

a. What is the direction of the force on positive test charge?
b. Find the force on a proton.
c. Compare the force found in part b with the weight of a proton (yes, you will have to look up the mass of a proton)

Mass of a proton = 1.67262158 × 10-27

we just started this today, and I'm a bit confused with this problem...how would I go about answering this?
for a., would it be downward as well?

Why can't you just look in your physics book? I doubt many people remember this stuff, and I'd trust a book more anyhow.
