Quick paypal question: accepting CC payments, what changes?

I want to pay this guy with a credit card and he currently can't accept it. I use 2 accounts, 1 for CC payments and 1 for bank transfers. Is the only thing that changes once you accept credit payments is that you can accept them? Or does Paypal take out any fees associated with any other transactions? Thanks.

Why didnt you check on paypal.com before posting here?

In any event, if you want to accept CC payments, they take a percentage of the payment.

He probably doesn't have a Premier account so he can't take CC payments. If he does have one, then he will get hit with a fee for receiving it regardless of where it came from.

Correct.

Having two accounts (Business and Personal) is well within the AUP of Paypal though - so set it up like that. Business takes CC, Personal takes cash.

So they DO take a fee out of bank transfers if you have a Premier account? Thanks for the help thus far.

If you upgrade to a Premier account, they take 2.9% + .35 from EACH and EVERY transaction you receive, no matter the source.

That is why I reject any CC based paypal payments. I do not want the charge for the small amounts that I funnel through. Maybe 1 or 2 per year are CC based.

I reject them and politely ask the sender to use non-CC if they wish to use paypal to me.

Any serious trader (forums or eBay) should have TWO Paypal accounts

1 Personal and 1 Premier/Business.

So if you have a personal account, can you take CC payment ??

Do you get hit with the 2.9% just like a Premier account..
Or do Paypal make you upgrade your Personal account.

You have to upgrade and take the hit on every transaction received in the Premier account.
