Quick OC'ing question for T-bird

Hi,
I penciled in the fingers on my T-Bird, haven't tried oc'ing it yet, but was just wondering how you could tell if it was right or not? Like what would happen if I started to oc it without the fingers done right? Would it even allow me to do it?

Well if your motherboard allows multiplier adjustment, just add .5 and see if it boots, thats it nothing else.
If it boots it's unlocked.
