Quick OC question

I am overclocking for the 1st time. I have been doing alot of reading. I think I have done a pretty good job too. I have an E6600 @ 3.2GHz v1.38 and in 1:1 ratio. I am doing the stress testing right now. During the stress testing I have noticed that different programs are reporting different CPU speeds http://img151.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ocscreenshotey7.png]

[/URL] Orthos says 3.6, Coretemp says 3.6 (450*8), but TAT and CPUZ say 3.2. Does anyone know why?

One side question. In the pic, why is Speedfan reporting the 12v rail at 6.34v?

thanks

Because these programs don't work well with all boards. Every bios is a little different. I had similar issues with the old motherboard monitor 5.

Would that also explain why TAT is giving me idle Temps of 54, while Core Temp is giving me temps of 37?

Also, the programs also use the default multiplier to calculate clock speed.
Since you dropped your multi to 8, some programs will report your FSB*9 (default) which for you would be 3.6GHz.

SpeedStep could be kicking in and move the multiplier around automatically depending on the current load. SpeedFan never reports my voltages correctly.
