Okay the phone number I have on caller ID is as follows:

011 31 205000700

I know 011 is required, and 31 is the country code, and 20 is the city code (no '0' in front so I'm good with that.) But I think I have too many digits after. When I dial it just keeps beeping in some foreign tone. WTF am I doing wrong?

call the operator and have them dial the number for you.

i've had to do that with international calls in the past as well.

Dial 011, the international access code.

Dial 31, the Netherlands' country code.

Remove the 0 from the beginning of the city code. Some city codes for major Dutch cities include 020 for Amsterdam, 030 for Utrecht, 070 for The Hague and 010 for Rotterdam.

Dial the remaining digits.

EDIT: we had this problem when i was living in Utrecht and my fiancee was trying to call me. We eventually figured it out, but got this off a website because i already fergot :)
