Quick MS Office 2003 question

Hey, i was wondering if anyone running Office 2003 could do a search in their system32\drivers directory to see if you have a file named 'ipvnmon.sys'. A guy here at work had his computer blue screen due to this file, and unless he has the file in this directory none of his .doc files will open. Just curious if you guys had this file as well, or if it could be something malicious.

Nope, not on my system.

Google says it's related to the Yahoo! IPInsightMonitor.

seems odd that it would have any influence on the way Word files were opened.

Parhaps the file is infected with a virus. Have you run a scan?

Yeup, scanned the file with Mcaffe found nothing 🙁. Ah well, as long as it keeps working and it doesn't affect my machine I guess i'll forget about it
