My FIC-AU11 apparently just shrugged off its mortal coil and joined the choir invisible. It's gone to meet it's maker. It's freakin' snuffed it!! I need to order a new motherboard quickly and am completely out of the loop on new chipsets, features and which brands and models offer the best bang for the buck.

It must be compatable with Athlon XP 1700+ with room to grow into 2500+ or higher, be overclockable and be as similar to my old NForce2 board as possible.

Features:

1 8x AP slot
3 PCI slots
onboard 10/100 LAN
2+ USB 2.0

I don't care about sound or onboard video, firewire, RAID or much else. Just a nice fast reliable board that's in the $50-$60 range. Thanks

Shuttle AN35N-Ultra is the going thing for a good budget nForce2 boardwith reasonable overclocking options (voltage settings, multiplier, some FSB overclockability). At newegg it's $55.

Cool. I wanted to get the order in today and didn't get a fast reply, so did some power-skimming of as many threads and reviews as possible in 10 minutes. The one that sounded the best in that price range was the Shuttle AN35N-Ultra and the best price was $55 from NewEgg and I ordered it about an hour ago. Thanks for confirming that it was a reasonable choice.
