Which model do you think is better, or are they probably both around the same?

Most concerned with the fisheye effect, were it looks more curved than it should at the sides and is more clear in the middle than at the sides. Also with the clarity of text, and just image/gaming image quality, etc etc. Any input would be great.

Can't speak for either of them personally, but over the past 10 years I've tended to prefer Samsung CRTs over Viewsonic CRTs. I've used tons of different Viewsonics and Samsungs at home and at work and I always preferred the Samsungs.
Of course, due to space constraints right now, I'm using a Viewsonic VG150 LCD panel which is absolutely PUTRID for gaming, but that's what I have. It was a hand-me-down. My wife is using "my" Samsung CRT. Grr...
