It's my first time filling out a money order, so this might be stupid. But on the top of the money order is says "serial number" and "post office." What the hell serial number do they want? And I bought it from my schools post office, so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to put there. The name of the post office?

In all the money orders I have filled out, never once have I filled out 'serial number' or 'post office'. Usually you just fill in who it is going to, the amount, your name and address. Whatever you do, do not sign the back of it. I would just leave those two areas blank. That's what I would do.

Yeah, seems strange. Bank just prints mine out...Don't need to fill in anything.

All I filled out was My name, his name, my address, his address, and what the money is being sent for. Everything else I left blank, along with the back. I guess that's good enough? The amount was pre-printed on it for me at the post office.
