Metroids without a shadow of a doubt, but this is a nerd forum so who knows...

Why do we have to explain this? The powers that be have spoken. Go get Metroid now and you'll find out.

I have both and I'd recommend Metroid. Zelda is a good little game, but I think Metroid is so much immervise. Seeing old creatures from the previous games puts a big grin on your face. Getting your second visor will make you grin. Getting the morph ball and using it for the first time will make you think 'cool.' I thought the pacing was much better in Metroid. I couldn't put it down. For 2 or 3 weeks straight, I was playing it every night. I enjoyed Zelda, but I wasn't as impressed. I still haven't finished it and doubt I will. The graphics are nice, but I didn't love the character models, the story, or some of the dumb stuff you have to do. There are parts that are down right impressive, though.

Short answer, buy Metroid now. You'll love it. When done, pick up Zelda for a less intense, relaxing game.

Metroid

If you're a Metroid fan, you simply cannot miss Prime. Its one of the GREATEST games put out in the last 5 years. It's an extremely polished game from start to finish. I wish I hadn't sold my Gamecube... hell I might buy one again just for MP.

edit for retarded grammar

I haven't played Metroid yet, but I've been enjoying Zelda. Metroid Prime will probably be the next game I get for the GameCube.

Its great you put a results option on the poll jackass. Just for that I'm voting to skew the results.

Metroid Prime.

Zelda is fun but I just can't get into that game. Zelda 2 was one of my favorite games but the Windwaker just doesn't feel right. Maybe it's 'cause I'm not into playing video games as much as I used to but the new Zelda just doesn't do it for me. Heck, unless I've missed something in the game then you don't even get to play as Link, you're just some kid in a green outfit (this fact may change once you beat the game but I haven't gotten that far yet).

Just get Metroid, you won't be disappointed.

Metroid Prime.
The game is sweet. I haven't played a metroid game before this one, but I loved it. There's a reason it got such great reviews. If you have a gamecube, this is the game you need to have.
I've only played the new zelda for a few minutes in circuitcity, but from what I saw, it's not too terribly different from the zelda's on the N64.
Metroid is a gaming experience you cannot miss out on.

Buy both preowned for just a little more than the price of one new. That's what I did. Both games are amazing, but I think Metroid is a bit more fun. However, I'm not even close to being done with Zelda.

Zelda spoiler below:

Of course you don't play as Link, Link died hundreds of years before this game takes place. It does turn out that your character is the reincarnation of Link, though.

i thought all the links from the zelda games were reincarnations of the original Link (except for the original game of course)

notfred...

Somehow that doesn't surprise me. I've made it to the point in the game where I have to start collecting the pieces of the triforce and I kind of figured that my character was in some way tied to the original Link. Maybe one day I'll sit back down and actually beat the game but for the time being I've lost the patience required. I'm happy playing NFS: Underground since I can sit down and play for only 5 mins. and not have to spend an hour trying to remember where I was going and what my mission was.
