Hi everyone, I’m looking for a quick recommendation on memory for my rig:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D 3 GHz 8-Core Processor
Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: (currently upgrading)
Video Card: PowerColor Fighter Radeon RX 6600 8 GB Video Card

I use this PC for light gaming and work tasks. Currently, I have 16GB of G.SKILL Trident Z RGB DDR4 RAM (2x8GB) 3200MT/s CL16-18-18-38, but I’m looking to upgrade to 32GB to handle my 1000+ Chrome tabs. I considered adding another 16GB of the same RAM, but the cost is the same as upgrading to 32GB of non-RGB RAM from other manufacturers.

With a Best Buy gift card, I recently purchased:
CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz C16 16-20-20-38 for about $55 USD (after taxes). I installed it and it seems to be running fine after enabling DOCP in the BIOS.

Do you think this RAM is sufficient, or would it be worth upgrading to something better? I'd rather get something from best buy since I have the GC unless there's something better.

That should be fine. You could probably squeeze a little more performance by getting some 3600 or lower latency, but it won't be that much and likely would only show up in synthetic benchmarks or a couple of FPS in games.

I think my head just exploded. I get lost after about 6 or 7.

Anything that's 3200cl16 or 3600cl18 ought to be fine. The whole point of the X3D cache is to minimize memory references.

Chrome has a tab grouping thing that you might find useful

Right now I have 3 tabs open in Chrome, and 2 more in Safari, and I honestly can't think of any reason why I'd want more. Very occasionally when I'm looking at forum posts I might temporarily have 8 or 9. Anyway, enough of that OT.
