Quick memory question

hello, i just bought some corsair XMS memory thats rated at 2-3-3-x..... When i pop it in and start the computer is it automatically at those ratings or is their a bios or windows setting i have to play around with? Thanks guys

what kind of motherboard is it, and what bios is it using

gigabyte 8knxp... dont know what bios rev but i got it around this time last summer havnt updated it
