Is it safe to connect both the analog and dvi connections to seperate computers and then use the source button to switch between the two?

On a Samsung 191t by the way--

Not to worried about quality, just a temporary setup to troubleshoot a second computer.

This guy obviously has no idea what he's talking about, and is just guessing. Try it. I THINK it should work. If it works, it certainly won't be harmful to the monitor. The monitor can't really do anything harmful to itself, really.

It worked fine- I didn't install drivers on the other comp and never made any adjustments to the display properties. I was able to shift the monitor between the 2 comps without issue. I needed to clean some viruses/spyware from a friends system and he doesn't have dvi, i was just paraniod that switching signals on the fly might be a no no.

theres nothing wrong at all with doing that. a few viewsonic LCDs come with two VGA and one DVI input for this very reason. Its like hooking up 3 video inputs to a tv and switching between them.

I`m using this setup, analog for my backup PC(GF2 Ti card) to my Samsung 191T,the main PC has 9700NP (using DVI mode to my Samsung 191T) and I just switched between the two from the button at front "Exit" (A or B).

Nothing wrong with image quality, yes the DVI is superior to analog mode but that`s normal.
